Pont Neuf, meaning “New Bridge,” holds the title of the oldest standing bridge across the Seine River in Paris, having been completed in the early seventeenth century. In the mid nineteen eighties, artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude temporarily wrapped the bridge, transforming its appearance and highlighting its artistic significance.
