Audio GuideParc de Bercy
City park with mature trees, a vineyard & an orangery, plus a duck pond & 3 old wine warehouses.
Welcome to Parc de Bercy, a vibrant urban park in the twelfth arrondissement of Paris that has transformed from a historic wine market into a modern recreational space. Once home to vast wine warehouses and bustling distribution, the area still echoes its vinicultural past. Wander along pathways lined with remnants of old rail tracks and discover planted vineyards that once nurtured Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The preserved wine cellars and worn structures remind visitors of a time when the market was the world’s largest.
Within the park, three themed gardens invite exploration. The Romantic Garden features scenic water basins, a rose garden, and historical wine cellars that open to a gentle, spiraling ramp. The Flowerbeds display diverse, colorful plants that pay homage to the spirit of the old Saint-Germain market. The Meadows, shaded by mature trees, provide wide open lawns perfect for leisure and light sports.
Art installations, such as the twenty-one “Les Enfants du Monde” sculptures, celebrate children’s rights by representing the unity of young spirits across nations. The park’s proximity to cultural landmarks like the Cinémathèque Française and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France deepens its connection to Paris’s rich heritage. Here, modern design meets historical charm, offering both art and recreation to visitors exploring the evolving spirit of Bercy.
