Welcome to the Musée de l'Orangerie, a unique art museum set in the Tuileries Garden near Place de la Concorde in Paris. Originally built in eighteen fifty-two as a winter orangery to shelter citrus trees, the building reflects a rich past dating back to the period of Napoleon the Third. Over the years, it has evolved from a functional greenhouse into a modern art destination that celebrates both history and creativity.

The museum is most famous for its cycle of eight large Water Lilies murals by Claude Monet. Designed in two oval rooms with skylights that let in natural light, these immersive murals were created with great care so that the shifting light from east to west perfectly brings out their beauty. In addition to Monet, visitors can discover works by artists such as Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, and Modigliani. The collection spans Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces that mark important moments in European art.

Recent renovations in the early two thousands have blended the building’s historical charm with modern facilities like educational spaces, temporary exhibition areas, and even a café. Located close to major attractions such as the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, the Musée de l'Orangerie is not only an art museum but also a cultural hub that hosts various exhibitions, performances, and special events, offering every visitor an enriching and memorable experience.
