Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil is a historic botanical garden that welcomes visitors with a blend of horticultural beauty and architectural charm. Originally established in the eighteenth century under Louis the Fifteenth, the garden was completely transformed in the late nineteenth century by architect Jean-Camille Formigé. This transformation introduced the large turquoise-painted cast iron greenhouses, including the celebrated Palmarium, which stands out for its separate climate zones for tropical, dry, and orange-growing plants.

Strolling past these architectural marvels, you will notice sculptures and water features that add cultural richness to the space. Artwork by renowned artists such as Rodin and a fountain created by Jules Dalou enhance the atmosphere of the garden. The park is divided into themed areas, including a classic French formal garden and a serene Japanese garden complete with a stone lantern. Other sections, such as the contemporary and Mediterranean gardens, showcase different gardening traditions from around the world.

The garden is home to nearly five thousand plant species, featuring remarkable collections of orchids, begonias, bromeliads, and an impressive assortment of palm trees, as well as rare specimens like Ginkgo biloba and the fragrant caramel tree. In addition to its botanical treasures, Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil plays host to temporary botanical exhibitions and cultural events such as classical music festivals, reflecting the evolution of horticultural practices over time.
