Welcome to Parc de Bercy, a lively urban park in the twelfth arrondissement of Paris that has evolved from a historic wine trading hub into a contemporary leisure destination. This space, once dominated by sprawling wine warehouses and busy distribution, still holds traces of its vinicultural heritage. Stroll along paths bordered by remnants of old railway lines and discover vineyards where Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varieties were once cultivated. Preserved wine cellars and timeworn structures nod to when this area housed the world’s largest wine market.

Within the park, three themed gardens await exploration. The Romantic Garden boasts scenic water features, a rose garden, and historical wine cellars leading to a gently spiralling ramp. The Flowerbeds showcase a vibrant array of plants, honouring the spirit of the former Saint-Germain market. The Meadows, under the shade of mature trees, offer expansive lawns ideal for relaxation and light sports.

Art installations, including the twenty-one sculptures titled “Les Enfants du Monde,” celebrate the rights of children, symbolising the unity of young spirits across different nations. The park’s proximity to cultural landmarks such as the Cinémathèque Française and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France strengthens its ties to Paris’s rich cultural legacy. Here, contemporary design intertwines with historical charm, providing art and leisure for visitors exploring the changing character of Bercy.
