Welcome to Palais Galliera, one of Paris’s top attractions for fashion lovers and inquisitive travellers. This museum, also referred to as the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, is situated at Ten Avenue Pierre the First de Serbie in the sophisticated Sixteenth arrondissement. Its stylish neo-Renaissance design, influenced by a Genoese palace once owned by the Galliera family, boasts an elegantly carved stone façade, intricate mosaic flooring, and graceful domes created by Giandomenico Facchina.

The museum’s inception is credited to the Duchess of Galliera, who, following the death of the Duke in eighteen seventy-six, embarked on a project to celebrate their legacy. Construction commenced in eighteen seventy-nine and was completed in eighteen ninety-four, with the museum opening its doors for its initial public exhibition the subsequent year. Since nineteen seventy-seven, Palais Galliera has been exclusively devoted to the history of fashion.

Inside, guests can discover a collection that ranges from eighteenth-century garments to contemporary masterpieces by iconic designers like Balenciaga, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent. On display, you will also find accessories, undergarments, and graphic arts that chart the progression of fashion.
