Dalí Paris

Permanent exhibition of Salvador Dali's Surrealist art, with a focus on sculptures and engravings.

...

Dalí Paris is an exhibition space dedicated to the surreal masterpieces of Salvador Dalí. Established in nineteen ninety-one, it's situated in the historic Montmartre area close to Place du Tertre in Paris. The venue invites visitors into a realm of imagination and unconventional art. It showcases around three hundred original works, combining Dalí’s famous surreal paintings with three-dimensional sculptures, engravings, and lithographs.

The curated Dalí Universe, brought together by Italian gallerist Beniamino Levi, links Dalí’s art with wider surrealist motifs through exhibits like the Space Elephant and Alice in Wonderland. The displays explore themes such as religious stories, the memory of surrealism, and literary inspirations like Don Quixote. Specific pieces, including depictions of Moses and monotheism, provide additional depth and context to the collection.

Beyond its permanent exhibits, Dalí Paris also hosts temporary displays that fuse traditional art with modern practices. Past exhibitions have incorporated elements from fashion and optical illusions to street art, as well as Dalí’s work with jewellery and gold objects. The museum enhances the visitor experience with creative workshops for children and carefully curated background music that heightens the surreal atmosphere. With nearby galleries featuring both Dalí’s creations and contemporary art, the exhibition continues to be a lively and dynamic celebration of surreal artistic expression.
